Green/Sustainable Building Design & Construction
Klondike offers general contracting services that provide innovative and sustainable solutions for both residential and commercial buildings. Sustainability is about more than building green, it’s about creating healthy and livable spaces.
Being ‘Truly Green’
(adj.) – A building is ‘Truly Green’ when it exists in a state of balance between its surroundings and its occupants; has been designed to respond to its local climate; uses significantly less energy and water than typical homes; is flooded with fresh air and natural daylight; has been built with responsible materials without compromising durability and performances; is easy to care for; and is certified by an industry-recognized green building authority. From Lighthouse Sustainable Building Centre.
Klondike’s Green Initiatives
Built Green Certification: Klondike Contracting is a member of Built Green Canada, a voluntary program where industry professionals learn green building practices and techniques to reduce the impact that their industry has on both, the natural and built environment. We are proud to be a certified Built Green and R-2000 Builder / Renovator. With knowledge of the Built Green performance criterion and experience in sustainable building design and green building construction; Klondike has the expertise to successfully guide you from the beginning stages of your project through to its official Built Green designation.
Habitat for Humanity
In keeping with the motto ‘Less is More’ we have partnered up with Habitat for Humanity to reduce our ecological impact on the job site and in turn give more to our community. By offering each of our clients the opportunity to donate their used building material, we are keeping usable items out of the landfills and giving those in need a chance to make their houses feel more like homes.
