There is also a diminishing supply of rental units because of demolitions and conversion in other areas of the city. LWH helps with affordability by providing more rental housing and/or housing for family members or caregivers. How does Laneway Housing provide financial aid to the owner?Not only will these structures help with the eco-density and rental issues, but they will also help with the owner’s mortgage, as the rental price for the unit may be substantial. Also, the addition of a secondary suite on a property will increase the property value significantly. What is Klondike Contracting’s plan for Laneway Housing?KC has developed our own Laneway Homes program that starts at $175,000 (prices may vary based on site conditions, lot size, design & level of finishes). Currently, we have a number of different plans that would comply with LWH requirements.
