Klondike Contracting is excited to announce that we’re embarking on yet another project with BC Housing! We have started work with our client at the former home of the iconic Army & Navy department store in downtown Vancouver. We will renovate this location to create a 60-bed shelter, and will be one of two temporary shelters opening in an effort to decamp the tent city at the nearby Strathcona Park. This former flagship department store has been a significant presence in this neighbourhood and its latest transformation will certainly cater and serve the community in the years to come. This shelter will offer daily healthy meals, access to laundry and showers, assistance with housing applications, and referral to community and health services.

We’re proud to play a part in the ongoing efforts to address the needs of homeless people in the city and lessen the impact of COVID-19 on the most marginalized residents in Vancouver. Klondike Contracting has completed several supportive housing projects over the last few years and is a proud partner of BC Housing’s homelessness initiative and support services.
