This summer has been a busy time for us here at Klondike Contracting! We have successfully completed or are completing a number of cool projects for new and long-standing clients. We wanted to give you a little preview of what we’ve been up to.

On the residential front, Klondike has wrapped interior renovations for a condominium in Vancouver, designed by Jenna McBride Design, that features new stone kitchen countertops, feature millwork in the master bedroom and all new plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems. We’ve also completed a brand-new Vancouver penthouse project – one in which we oversaw the entire process from concept & design to total completion.

We have completed several institutional projects – the Fairview Elementary & Westview Secondary School for School District #42, Maple Ridge – and government projects which include several tenant improvements for the Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction and two office-space renovations for the Ministry of Children and Family Development. Our continuing work with BC Housing has also brought about the brand new Downtown Eastside Women’s Shelter in Vancouver (which is almost complete) and the Jubilee Rooms (recently seen in the local news).

On the commercial front, we recently collaborated with long standing client, the JOEY Restaurant Group and Chip Wilson’s family real-estate business, Low Tide Properties, on another flagship location – the already-popular LOCAL eatery in the heart of Gastown. This job was unique in its sustainable building practices and we preserved the building’s original features wherever possible in order to protect the building’s heritage element.

In collaboration with Mark Pritchard Design, we also finished a high-end skincare clinic – Optaderm – that covered an extensive scope of work, including HVAC, plumbing, tiling, walls, floors and ceilings, to mention a few. Brand new concrete flooring, ornamental metal, millwork and stone countertops were also used.

And last and not least, we’ve completed another store for a long-time KC client – RYU Apparel Inc – with another RYU store in Metropolis Metrotown Shopping Centre. This work was part of a collaborative effort with IBI Design Group and we’re delighted to be a part of this Vancouver-based athletic label’s rapid expansion!
