We’re proud to showcase another new commercial project – another Korean supermarket for H-Mart, the international grocery chain. We provided Construction Management services to build a 6,500 square feet full service high end grocery store.

Our services for this full tenant fit out involved a top-to-bottom coordination of pre-construction consultancy team (architectural, mechanical and electrical engineering) as well overseeing the full construction management of the build out.

The scope of work for H-Mart Dunbar ran the gamut including plumbing, steel stud framing, flooring, tiling and sprinklers, not to mention all-new HVAC, electrical and refrigeration equipment. The store consisted of several sections – Customer Service; Seating & Bakery; Grocery Display; Homeware Display; Dry Produce; Fresh Produce; Frozen Produce – each of which needed specialty work done.

One of the challenges for this project was installing a 40-foot welded steel duct in an existing shaft which involved craning it in one entire piece. This made for a very interesting day! This type of scope is atypical of Klondike but we love rising to new challenges. The store itself was also located in a building that housed many residential tenants; our Project Manager and Site Manager succeeded in coordinating several trades and their work so as not to affect their day-to-day lives.

We’re very happy to play a part in H-Mart’s expansion and we look forward to many future projects with them!
