Klondike is pleased to unveil show a recent project in Port Coquitlam – a 13,000 square foot H-Mart Supermarket for the Hanahreum Group!

Klondike Contracting committed to an aggressive schedule of 24 weeks in order to assist our client, the nationwide Korean grocery chain, in getting into the space. First of all, our workers and trades worked on a base building upgrade, consisting of the demolition and removal of the previous existing buildout – followed by structural steel, framing, concrete and structural work for the mezzanine floor.

We then worked on the installation of the store equipment, shelving, light fixtures, custom millwork, fish tank, ceiling fixtures, patio and a new electrical feed as well as finished carpentry. This project was a huge undertaking as it also included rough plumbing, a fire prevention sprinkler system and installing a new refrigeration system and walk-in cooler for all their fresh produce. Brand new tiles, polished concrete and an epoxy floor finish make up the rest of this completed space! Working in collaboration with Jinyong Yum Architecture (www.jyarch.com), the project turned out to be a huge success all around and the store opened to an overwhelming positive response by the community and consumers.

Klondike is also under way building another H-Mart Supermarket store at the University of British Columbia! Stay tuned for more updates on the Grand Opening!
