We’re excited to talk about our work for Hublot’s first ever Canadian luxury watch boutique store, located in the newly-renovated Carlyle Hotel on Alberni Street! Working for our client De Beers Diamond Jewellers Canada on the Louis Vuitton-owned Swiss luxury timepiece brand Hublot was a pleasure.

Working in collaboration with Karen Mah at DK Studio & RJC Engineers, Klondike’s scope of work on this two-level retail space was extensive, ranging from full interior alterations (electrical, mechanical, security systems and structural) to exterior renovations (façade elevation, architectural metal screens, demolition, signage and display windows) as well as brand adjoining custom steel & glass staircase. Full height mirrored millwork and stainless steel exhibition space displays were installed in order to best showcase the brand’s exquisite timepieces.

Thick black slate walls adorn the Hublot entrance and customers will notice the brand-new silver oak flooring on their visits. As they ascend to the second level, they will also spot the European-style solid veneer doors, engineered hardwood floor and floor-to-ceiling windows as they enjoy the only retail store in the neighbourhood that features an upstairs lounge! Decorative Paint & Plaster Concepts furnished Hublot in polished Venetian plaster for their flooring and cabinets as well.

Hublot is an exceptional addition to the ‘luxury zone’ in Downtown Vancouver and Klondike Contracting is proud to play a part in the city’s retail market expansion.
