We’re proud to show you our work for one of Western Canada’s premier restaurant chains – the JOEY Restaurant Group. Working with MBGA Architecture & Design (mgba.com), this restaurant project encompassed the JOEY Bar Lab and Wine Room as well as special construction for an exterior patio.

Upon entering the space, customers are greeted with large antique mirrors that offer views to all corners of the room. Natural finishes, custom art work, feature 3D patterns and deep brown leather booths ground the space and add warmth and comfort to the high-ceilinged space while the wall of windows across the room provides a nice contrast.

The Wine Room is designed to offer the best wine tasting experience – glasses are hung on tile and walnut backdrop; the glazing system adds an industrial feel; a touch of rustic is added by way of refurbished pendants that complement the refined space.

The restaurant space also boasts a world-class lighting and sound system. Large chandeliers drop low into the center of the room in order to lend intimacy to a public dining space. Placing pendant lights over the booths and directional lighting between the wood slates add to a warm yet bright space. A strategically installed acoustic system – involving evenly spread speakers – encourage a conversational atmosphere and is layered enough as to offer ample absorption of sound waves and reduce background noise.

Perfect for a business meeting, happy hour or late night dinners, the clean and classic JOEY space features diverse seating options from large U-shaped booths, a long communal table and a staggered marble top table down the centre of the room. If guests prefer to dine and drink al fresco, the large outdoor enclosed patio is the perfect spot!

We are also excited to announce that we are currently in pre-construction on another JOEY Restaurant Group-owned project, soon to be unveiled before Christmas. Stay tuned!
