It was that time of year again – time for the annual Klondike Contracting Summer Event! We had such a fabulous time at the Scavenger Hunt last summer, that we opted for a similar event this time around, but in a different setting… the gorgeous Grouse Mountain on the North Shore.
We met our handy guides at in front of the lodge and off we went! KC staff split up into two different teams and roamed around the mountain, solving puzzles, finding hidden items and completing tasks at a group in a race to win as many points as we could.
Teamwork was our maxim for the day as we all came together, utilising our individual strengths to get as many tasks and riddles done! The field staff got very excited about building a free-standing structure and hunting for personal protective equipment (PPE) as they for the chance to use their day-to-day expertise.
We took a little break in the middle of the everything to marvel at the bears too. Since it was so close to their upcoming hibernation period, they were in full form and more active than usual.
We roamed all around the mountain (except for the peak – we were on a time crunch!) engaging in a variety of tasks including throwing axes and creating makeshift obstacle courses.
We rounded up the evening with a lovely drinks and dinner session at the Alpine Lodge, overlooking the gorgeous North Shore night lights. We are really committed to improving our company culture with these regular summer parties and making them a mainstay of the company calendar!
