The owners of this Kitsilano 2-storey penthouse was ready to breathe new life into their home. We were happy to present and complete a streamlined residential project for them: gutting and transforming a stuffy 1980s-style condominium into a sleek, open-plan, clutter-free and bright home that’s gorgeous to look at and easy to live in!
The top floor encompasses an open-plan kitchen (replete with walnut island and granite countertops), a living room and dining room with underfloor heating. This floor also opens up to a beautiful roof deck that overlooks the Kitsilano public pool (Vancouver’s only saltwater swimming pool!). Our job was to open this dated condo and craft a vibrant and bright interior design plan that allowed the homeowners to take advantage of the incredible natural light that the space awarded them. Clean lines, sharp contrast and natural light elevate this kitchen into a space that’s unique and inspiring – allowing our clients to soak up the stunning view while they cook and entertain.
Stunning natural wood can be such a rich addition to a home and we utilised it here to great effect. By using the warmth of wood, we were able to add depth and interest to a very minimalist space, making it inviting and comfortable.
The bottom floor covered the entrance foyer, the two new custom bedrooms and bathrooms. The contrast of clean white walls and quartz against lots of warm luxurious walnut is striking. The master bedroom features wall-to-wall storage, custom millwork (in the natural walnut wood!) and a bespoke headboard. We adore smart storage and it is literally built into the framework of this bedroom.
Our clients wanted their new penthouse home to focus on family comfort, modern textures and sleek beauty. Our job was to meet their needs and desires, make their home a reflection of their family and produce a lovely and livable space!
