Klondike Contracting is pleased to be working with Burnaby School District 41 on the construction of hundreds of new childcare spaces.  These are exciting times as we continue to develop strong relationships with institutional & government clients! Our scope of services ranged from coordinating the consultancy team (architect, engineers & consultants), assisting with the building permitting processes as well as undertaking all the civil & tenant improvement aspects of the construction. Klondike worked simultaneously at the following schools:

  • Marlborough Elementary School
  • Cascade Heights Elementary School
  • Westridge Elementary School
  • Cameron Elementary School
  • Suncrest Elementary Schools
  • Marian Learning Resource Centre

This project was particularly complex as it spanned over multiple locations at the same time and challenges arose as a result of coordinating between the School District, the school board and the non-profit organizations that run the centres. Our partnership with Dimas Craveiro Architect, MJL EngineeringLaporte ConsultantsBogdanov Pao Associates and ByCar Engineering has enabled us to keep these projects running smoothly. Klondike stepped up rose to the challenge of delivering hundreds of childcare spaces on a tight schedule!

The School District is deeply committed to providing high-quality childcare and we are thrilled to be part of the solution in providing sufficient daycare spaces for all the hardworking families in Burnaby and the surrounding areas. Covid-19 has made us even more acutely aware of the important of the daycare and schooling system as the foundation of a strong and vibrant workforce and in term a strong economy.
