We finished off 2017 with a slew of completed commercial and residential projects and we are proud to share some of our accomplishments!
We’re happy to report our ongoing business relationship with our client, the supermarket chain Hanahreum Group (www.hmart.ca). H-Mart’s expansion in Canada has resulted in a steady rollout of stores throughout the Lower Mainland, including three new stores. We’re proud to have successfully completed all three stores, in collaboration with Abbarch Architecture (www.abbarch.com), Fluid Mechanical Engineering (www.fluidmech.ca), Opal Engineering (www.opaleng.com) and Tides Consulting (www.tidesconsulting.com): Port Coquitlam, Kerrisdale and one on the campus at the University of British Columbia. The high-end H-Mart Dunbar store measures over 6,000 square feet and provides a vibrant shopping experience that encompasses Korean, Chinese and Japanese groceries as well as fresh meat and ready-to-cook dishes. Its smaller counterpart, H-Mart UBC takes up nearly 2,000 square feet and serves the inhabitants of the university campus with grab-and-go foods that are a better fit for the student body.
KC has also recently completed the construction of the Coast Performance Rehabilitation Centre (www.coastperformancerehab.com) in North Vancouver. Our client’s first lcoation strives to innovate the way injury rehabilitation is carried out. We’re delighted to help them provide a space to improve people’s movement capabilities, carry out proper manual therapy and improve the lives of their patients. Their brand new clinic at 138 East 13th Street just opened and offers a variety of services including physiotherapy, massage therapy, athletic therapy and reconditioning classes.
We’re also happy to recognise the completion of the Koerner Recital Hall for a long-time favourite client, the Vancouver Academy of Music (vancouveracademyofmusic.com). Working with this famed academic institution, in conjunction with the talented Shape Architecture team (shapearchitecture.ca) and BAP Acoustics (bapacoustics.com), has resulted in a beautiful performance space made possible by the Academy’s generous donors and staff who contributed and exceeded the Koerner Recital Hall Fundraising Campaign. We’re very proud to have provided an improved environment for the up-and-coming cultural stars of tomorrow!
We’ve also delighted to have completed a few residential projects – A West Vancouver residence estate for a growing family and a penthouse in Downtown Vancouver. Our happy clients moved in last year and we’re delighted to have provided them with our design, pre-construction and construction management services.
And last but definitely not least, we collaborated once again with the JOEY Restaurant Group (joeyrestaurants.com) and James Wu Architecture (www.jwcarchitect.com) to complete the construction of their Local Public Eatery taking over the old Chill Winston location in the Chip Wilson-owned iconic building, situated in the heart of Gastown. Their Alexander Street location is set to be a popular fixture in Vancouver’s dining scene and a welcome addition in this chain of friendly pub-type restaurants.
We will have exclusive photos of all our new projects on our blog and social media networks soon as we are booked with Ema Peters Photography – be sure to check back in the next few weeks!
