Spring is in the air and many more projects in the KC production have now reached completion!

Earlier this month, renovations on the Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre were completed, increasing resident capacity and included the space to provide around-the-clock services, including healthy meals, housing outreach, first aid, case management and counselling services. Transitioning from an emergency night shelter to a 24-hour operation and safe space required additional beds, a commercial kitchen, improved washrooms and an open layout that emphasizes the residents’ safety, comfort and privacy. We are very proud to play our part in our community helping the those in need get back on their feet!

We have also finished a substantial seismic upgrade for a project at W4 Ave & Fir Street, managed commercial real estate management company, Turner Meakin! We’ve provided general contracting services to transform an aging building structure into a seismically upgraded & code compliant structure for the purpose on changing the use of the space into future neighbourhood-friendly retail units. The project is almost fully leased up!

As projects near the finish line, we are also pleased to report that we have several new, exciting projects starting up as well. We are currently in the design phase of a new project with a long-time client, the Vancouver Academy of Music, and we will be embarking on a new project with a Presentation & Fitness Centre on the west side of Vancouver. We are collaborating with Lime Design and are in the design / permitting process of Yaletown’s new Urban Oasis Salon and Spa. We are also excited to announce that we have been awarded a Recreational Centre project by the City of Delta and are currently in construction with another project for BGIS Workplace Solutions to manage mezzanine demolition work for the Sinclair Centre located in downtown Vancouver.

Last but not least, we recently been awarded another project for WorkSafeBC, this government agency oversees occupational health and safety of workers in our province. The scope of work is extensive, including the hazardous materials abatement, rough & finish carpentry, architectural millwork, metal stud framing, drywall, acoustics insulation and firestopping and much more. We look forward to another successful project! Stay tuned for more updates.
